Kenning Arlitsch, Dean of the MSU Library, then reads a selection from Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson. Banned Books Week is an annual event celebrating the freedom to read and highlighting the value of free and open access to information. Banned Books Week brings together the entire book community in shared support of the freedom to seek and express ideas, even those that some may consider unorthodox or unpopular.
